Yes, we are still shipping. Our current shipping time is 3-5 business days within Canada (1 - 3 days in the winter) for plants and 15-30 business days for other products. Due to the pandemic, shipping may be delayed. We will always keep you updated to the best of our ability.

All sales are final unless the product is damaged, please read about our policies in the Refunds, Returns & Exchange Policy page.

Winter Shipping

Winter can be a challenging time for shipping products in the plant industry, find out how our business takes precautions to ensure safe delivery of your products. 

Yes, we are! Shipping in the winter comes with additional risks assumed by the buyer.

Included in your plant order, we offer free insulated box liners and 72+ hour heat packs when you purchase live plants. When you get your plants, the interior of the box will be lined with an insulated box liner, while the plant itself will be packed in craft paper with an extra layer of insulated bubble wrap around it. Packing peanuts will insulate and protect the plant from damage; the heat pack will be packed with the plant wrapped in another piece of craft paper.

Insulated box liners and heat packs maintain a warm environment when shipping and reduces chances of temperature damage.

It’s normal for plants to look sad when sent in the mail; suddenly changing your plant’s environment from ideal conditions to a dark box is sure to shock the plant. Droopy and yellowing leaves and dry soil/sphagnum is normal. Keep your plants in the medium it's planted in and give your plant a good drink. Inspect your plant for damage, signs of disease or pests. Place your plant in a warm, low light corner and gradually move it to an area with more and more bright indirect light. Keep your plant isolated from the rest of our plants for at least 2 weeks. Do not re-pot the plant for a few weeks to allow it to recover. 

It is advised you do research prior to your plant arriving to understand the optimal conditions your plant requires. Your plant will come with a sticker indicating care tips and how we have been keeping it, but it is up to you to maintain the health and well-being of your plant.

Unfortunately, no. Prior to checking out, please make sure you sincerely want the plant instead of purchasing it due to “plant shopping thrill”. Plants are not toys, they are living things that require care and attention. Please only purchase the plant if you are ready to invest the time and effort required to maintain the care for the plant. 

Plants need water, oxygen and light to survive. When you're shipping a plant, you are stripping the plant of all of its nutrients

As stated in our Refunds, Returns & Exchange Policy page, if there is an issue with the plant upon arrival, please let us know within 24 hours. Should there be an issue, a partial refund may be issued. If there are any issues with the plant after the period, please read this blog post regarding Plant Troubleshooting.

Our store specializes in exotic rare plants that are native to Asia and South America. Collecting exotic house plants is a growing hobby and since they are not found locally we import plants, acclimate them to our climate and care for them. We price all our plants as fairly as possible to the best of our ability. Please do not shame our prices, if you are not interested, check out other sites for the plant of your interest. 

Not at the moment, we may be offering this in the future; currently our shop only focuses on exotic rare plants. 

Restocks will happen gradually and the site will be updated constantly. There may be occasional restocks planned, but this will be announced ahead of time. 

Most of our plants are imported from overseas. Upon arrival, they are thoroughly cleaned to remove any pesticides or chemicals. Afterwards, they are potted in sphagnum moss and kept in our grow room to acclimatize until they are established. We keep most of our plants soil free to prevent pest transmission.

Exact plants to be purchased are shown as pictured, unless otherwise stated. You will recieve a healthy plant in the pot size indicated, but there may be slight damage to the leaves or brown spots (or two) due to shipping. Be aware that this is not always due to disease! Imagine being a cold, cramped box with no oxygen or light!

We take as many measures possible to ensure a pest free environment. At thrive n' gro, we use predatory mites, spot treat with neem oil and inspect our plants at every watering to ensure we catch any issues quickly prior to spreading. All plants that are brought in from other sellers or propagated from other plants are always quarantined for at least 2 weeks to ensure no pests infect the rest of our plants.

Prior to shipping, we thoroughly examine and screen your plant's health to the best of our abilities. Bugs do still happen though, despite best efforts. Even an established plant can develop pest issues - they can come from your clothing after being outside and can infect your plant.

We strongly encourage you to inspect your plants upon arrival and quarantine them for at least 2 weeks upon arrival.

We are not responsible for pests found on plants that have been shipped.

Most plants are shipped bare root with sphagnum moss around the roots with moist paper towel and saran wrap to keep the roots moist. There may be occasional instances that plants are shipped in their nursery pots with soil and moist paper towel on top with tape to contain the medium. To pack the plants, the plant foliage is wrapped with craft paper to protect them from physical damage and empty space in the box is filled with packing material.

Plants are sent out on Monday. If there is a holiday on Monday, it is sent out on Tuesday. This is done to avoid time spent in the mail warehouse.

Our current shipping time is 3-5 business days within Canada for plants and 15-30 business days internationally for other products. Due to the pandemic, shipping may be delayed so we cannot guarantee our shipping time with 100% of our ability.

When purchasing a plant, it is highly recommended that you purchase expedited, overnight or 2 day shipping due to the cold.

We will provide direct tracking information to the email provided. Additionally, you can track your order with the link provided. You can also track your orders here

We use Canada Post, USPS, DHL, Fedex and Purolator. 

We are able to change the address, only PRIOR to shipping. Otherwise, we are not responsible for packages returned to us by the carrier due to incorrect or incomplete address or delivery information.

At this time, we do not accept PO box addresses. It may be difficult for our couriers to ensure the safety of your product. 

Our plants are shipped from Ontario, Canada. Other items are shipped by our suppliers either from the US or overseas.

Sezzle is a payment gateway that offers “Buy Now, Pay Later” plans. Essentially, your entire online order will be split into 4 interest-free payments scheduled over a 6 week period. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Sezzle.

Please check with your bank if you are using the correct billing address listed, cards may not be processed if the billing address is not what is on your account. Also, please make sure you have sufficient funds in your account to avoid your card from being declined.

We want to ensure that all plants are healthy and established before going to a new home. Our plants are imported from overseas, thus stress and/or damage is inevitable and some of the plants might not recover well from the trip. With that being said, we do not take pre orders and only release the plants for sale when they are ready.
